광주 서구 의원들 미얀마 군부 규탄 시위 이어져

[시사매거진/광주전남] 광주서구의회 민주당 소속 의원들이 지난 3월 24일부터 26일까지 3일간 최근 관내 인구 밀집지역에서 미얀마 군부 쿠데타로 민간인 탄압과 학살이 자행되고 있는 현지 상황을 규탄하며 시위에 나섰다.

 

거리 시위에 나선 오광교, 전승일, 고경애, 정우석 의원은 피켓시위와 전단지 등을 시민들에게 전달하며 국민의 인명과 존엄성을 파괴한 군부 쿠데타를 규탄하는 동시에 반민주주의적 행위를 중단할 것을 촉구하고, 민주주의 회복 운동에 대한 지지의사를 표명했다.

서구의원들은 “ 미얀마 인권단체 정치범지원협회에 따르면 전날 현재 군경의 총격 등에 희생된 것으로 확인된 사람은 300여명에 달한다.” 며 “ 광주민주화운동 당시를 연상시키는 군부의 잔인한 학살행위는 결코 용납 돼서는 안 될 반인륜적 행위다.” 고 강하게 비난했다.

한편, 광주 서구의회는 지난 18일 제294회 임시회 본회의에서 미얀마 군부 쿠데타를 규탄하기 위한 결의문을 발표하고 UN안전보장이사회 및 우리정부에도 미얀마의 민주화를 위해 적극적인 행동에 나설 것을 강하게 촉구하였으며 이를 위한 1인시위에 나설 것을 예고한 바 있다.
